Delaware-Muncie Wayfinding SignageThe Wayfinding Signage program initially began in 2002. This project has been a large undertaking that has taken approximately five years to complete. Its intent is to coordinate local business attraction signage for the purpose of directing visitors to specific areas of attractions within the community. The concept was designed in order to provide continuity and uniformity in area signage while presenting a logical pathway for visitors to travel and arrive at a designated business attraction site by means of attractive and functional directional signs that fit well within the community's vision. Muncie, Indiana is a known attractions hub in the East Central Indiana Region. Thirteen local business organizations, Ball State University, Ball Memorial Hospital, AMA and Delaware Greenways, just to name a few, are involved participants in the program. As other businesses realize the impact of being included in the Wayfinding Signage program it is anticipated that many more will join. All the new directional signage, for participating organizations, are expected to be completed and installed by year end, 2007, or early 2008. LOOK for the new attraction signs to be scattered around town and within the surrounding community. |
