information concerning future events in your area. Events:
1. One responsible individual eighteen (18) years or older is required to register personally for his/her camper group at the Park Office. Campers under eighteen (18) must be accompanied by an adult. 2. The camping fee must be paid in advance and shall entitle the camper group to occupy one campsite for the period paid. 3. Campground occupancy is limited to a period not to exceed fourteen consecutive days, unless it is a designated seasonal campsite. At the end of any camping period, the camping group must completely vacate the property with all of their equipment for a minimum period of 48 hours. 4. Leasing or subleasing of campsites between or among private individuals is strictly prohibited. 5. Campers may request a specific site if that site is available. Reservations can be made at the Park Office. Reservation payment must be received two (2) weeks prior to reservation date if it falls on a holiday weekend. 6. The payment receipt issued by the Park Office must be retained by the camper. 7. Refunds will be given only in unusual circumstances such as prolonged loss of utility services in the camping area, serious illness, or accident. Rain, cold, and inclement weather is not a valid reason to request a refund. 8. All primitive campsites are on a first come basis. 9. Campsite check-out time is 12 noon. Revised September 2004 PRAIRIE CREEK PARK AND RESERVOIR 1. No camp, tent, trailer, truck camper, van, or motor home may be located at any place except as specifically provided, designated, or assigned. 2. It is strictly prohibited to leave any camp, tent, trailer, truck camper, van, or motor home at any designated or assigned place for a longer period of time than specified on your permit. 3. It is strictly prohibited for an individual to sleep in or occupy between the hours of 11:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. camp, tent, trailer, truck camper, van, or motor home or other vehicles in any area other than those specifically designated or assigned to that individual except as authorized by written permit from the Park Office. 4. Horses are not be permitted in the campgrounds or in any undesignated park property. 5. Dishwater must be disposed of through proper sanitary facilities. Dishwater shall not be discharged on the campgrounds. 6. Washing of dishes or pets at drinking fountains or in lavatories is strictly prohibited. 7. The washing of automobiles, boats, or campers in the camping area is strictly prohibited. 8. Fireworks are strictly prohibited in the campgrounds at all times. 9. Smoking is prohibited inside public areas: (bathhouse, restrooms). 10. Vehicles, including boat/ pontoon trailers cannot be left unattended for more than twenty-four (24) hours. 11. Quiet hours shall be observed from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. 12. No dog kennels are allowed at the campsites. Dogs, cats, or other pets must be kept on a leash no longer than six (6) feet and be attended at all times. 13. All refuse and garbage must be placed in receptacles provided for that purpose. 14. Firearms or bow and arrows are strictly prohibited. 15. It is unlawful to build a fire anywhere except in designated public use areas provided by the park for that purpose. Fires shall be extinguished entirely, immediately after use. Lighted matches, cigarettes, cigars, or other articles afire shall be throughly extinguished before being discarded. 16. It is unlawful to injure, cut, destroy, remove, mutilate, or deface any building, structure, pontoon dock, water craft, sign, rock, tree, shrub, vine, or property whatsoever, or to pick any flowers, or take, molest, or rifle the nest of any bird, or den, or abode, of any wild animal on land owned, licensed, or leased to the Park Department or Indiana-American Water Company. 17. Pontoon Docks are rented by private individuals and docks and water craft docked there arerestricted to owners only. Those area are strictly off limits to anyone other than the owners. All others are trespassing and will be treated accordingly. 18. Campers must be respectful to others around them. Abusive language, encroachment on other visitors property, ignoring quiet hours, or drunk and disorderly conduct will not be tolerated. Camping at Prairie Creek Campground is a privilege, not a right. Campers must abide by all rules and regulations set forth by the City of Muncie and the Muncie Park and Recreation Board. We reserve the right to enforce our rules and to refuse to register undesirable guests. Failure to comply with these rules and regulations will result in expulsion from the park without a refund.
Revised September 2004 SEASONAL CAMPERS ADDITIONAL RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Aluminum shelter/dining canopies are allowed on a campsite provided they do not exceed an area of ten (10) feet by twenty (20) feet. Only one shelter/dining canopy is allowed per campsite. 2. No privacy fences. 3. Any and all decks must be portable with an area no larger than 144 square feet (twelve (12) feet by twelve (12) feet). Small portable storage units are allowed with an area no longer than five (5) feet, no higher than three (3) feet , and no wider two (2) feet. 4. Only person's with a valid driver's license are allowed to operate a golf cart on park property. Any golf carts used after dark must be equipped with lights. 5. Vegetable, flower, and ornamental gardens are not allowed in the campgrounds. 6. Any firewood kept at Campsites must be kept in a neat stack no longer than six (6) feet, no higher than four (4) feet, and no wider than four (4) feet. 7. No appliances are allowed outside the campers. 8. No portable toilets are allowed at the campsite. 9. Seasonal Campsite permits are non-transferable. If you sell your camper there are no refunds and you lose the seasonal campsite. Seasonal camping at Prairie Creek Campground is a privilege, not a right. Seasonal campers must abide by all rules and regulations set forth by the City of Muncie and the Muncie Park and Recreation Board. We reserve the right to enforce our rules and to refuse to register undesirable guests. Failure to comply with these rules and regulations will result in expulsion from the park without a refund. |
