POLICE/FIRE MERIT COMMISSIONS
A. Membership Qualifications
(1) Legal resident of the City of Muncie for three consecutive years
(2) At least 21 years of age
(3) Not an active police/fire department member
(4) No more than two members may be past police/fire department members
B. Appointment
(1) Two persons of different political parties by the Mayor
(2) One person by City Council
(3) Two persons who must be of different political parties elected by the active members of the department
C. Terms
(1) Appointees are selected to fulfill a four-year term
