Muncie Cantilevered Walkway in Muncie

Overlooking the White River, and incorporated as part of the Greenway trails, when either walking, bike riding, or just taking in the views of the riverbend, dam and surrounding scenery this newly constructed walkway is a most enjoyable experience for exercise, sightseeing or leisure strolls.

This spectacular cantilevered walkway starts at the High Street Bridge and meanders along North Wheeling Avenue, near the heart of downtown Muncie. It is a beautiful and awesome sightseeing experience for residents and visitors, alike.

Robert F. Kennedy visited Muncie in May of 1968. The Ball State men’s Gym was selected as the location for Kennedy’s speech; however there was much concern over filling all the seats in the gym. Conversely, the Gym was filled to capacity, with an estimated 9,000 people filling all the seats and the entire playing court, after playing waiting hours for Kennedy’s appearance.
