About the Department
The Muncie Building Commissioner's Office is a team of dedicated and determined officials. The team in the Building Commissioner's Office are not only workers of the city, but also residents who care about this community. This office helps educate the public on city codes and ordinances. They provide services such as obtaining proper permits, along with inspections. They also take calls on complaints from citizens regarding unsafe houses, abandoned vehicles, tall grass and weeds, trash & debris, and any other building or zoning issues that may arise within the community. Code enforcement wants to help the community by providing these services to help make Muncie more attractive and safer place for all.
